History

The history of the company begins in the mid 1800s in Samsun, Turkey.
Misak Missirian joined the tobacco trading business at that time preparing the aromatic leaves of “Samsun” grown locally, for the cigarette manufacturers.
Two of his sons, Armen (1878-1958) and Mikael (1883-1951) found themselves in Antwerp (1900) and realized the importance of trading tobaccos among several European cigarette companies.
In 1902, they started their company in Brussels, Armen & Mikael Missirian Brothers, (AMM) importing from the Black Sea area. As the business was growing next stops were in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (1905) and in Kavala, Greece (1922).

  • In 1996, a new factory was built in Kavala,Greece, and it was fully renovated in 2005.
  • In 2004, a new processing plant was established in Stambolovo,Bulgaria.
  • In 2017, a subsidiary was established in North Macedonia.
